It's an airline. Airlines lose money. Even merging with Delta will only prolong the pain of losing money to lower cost carriers like SWA because they have lower overhead, happier workers and a more efficient business model that legacy carriers have not been able to duplicate. The merger will only exacerbate their long history of labor problems. That is never good for a service industry.
