is CEO Patrick Byrne an out of control lunatic or one of the greatest men in the country? likely neither. to me it is clear that the ex boxer has led with his chin at times with his "sith lord" type comments which were enough to give me pause. moreover, i agreed with those who felt that Byrne was so preoccupied with the larger issues of corruption on wall street that his OSTK duty was subordinate to his greater passion. when his father, builder of Geico into an insurance giant and close coleague of warren buffet, resigned as chairman of OSTK, it was surely time to steer clear of the stock. to this day, patrick gets no credit for nearly singlehandedly calling attention to the corrupt practice of naked shorting

Now it is time to buy! Byrne is closer to being a great man than its opposite; wall street crooks still hate him but he has successfully fought off the short attack determined to destroy him and OSTK; increasingly, reports from those who would know in Utah tell us that OSTK operations have greatly improved; AMZN tells us that the broad based etail model is here to stay; Byrne has cut costs, increased revenue and achieved profitability; insider ownership is off the charts; valuation (EV/Rev) is much more favorable than AMZN (besos is one of my favorite CEOs); despite Byrne's continued interest in the larger issues, he seems to know that his standing in financial history is dependent on OSTK's success; i know scores of people who use OSTK and love it!

i have come to be a believer in Byrne and his integrity. he certainly has the brains, courage, and persistance! i still have a question about whether or not he has the practical sense to bring OSTK to its potential. most likely end game--Byrne sells the company, but for nothing less than $50 per share and likely more!!

OSTK is out of my cellar; vastly outperforming the S&P 500 during the past 6 months.
