Farmers making their spring fertilizer buys are getting the sticker shock connected to the higher price of nitrogen. Even though POT, BASF, and MOS have had large run-ups, they should do well for the next three quarters as higher revenues come in during the 2007 growing season. I expect fertilizer companies in general to outperform in this slowing economy. Potash of Saskatchewan will do better because of its nitrogen plants and fertilizer production - double-dipping on the higher nitrogen prices.

Very nice growth pattern on the price chart ... very little volatility (price swings). Yesterday (7/24/07) it closed at 79.25 and the PE was 35.97. This should be a good long term and short term investment. It seems to me (without comparing) that maybe the PE is a little high, but I could be wrong.
