I had an economics professor who once said "The continent is on a tilt - all the fruits and nuts roll out to the west coast". Those were less politically correct times and I think he was talking about Michael Milken. But still, of all the muni's to buy California? Why not just go straight for Detroit? Even if there's no default, the yields are too low to be attractive.
