Although I tend to like Ryland more than the others like phm and ctx (probably the worst) I think RYl will shrink from here 30% and maybe even merge with another builder at the end of 2008 or so. So for this year I will short most of the builders including RYL, CTX and PHM among others. Ryland works well with first time buyers and someday (2010?) they will return as this may be the group the government helps to enter the housing market first.
