As the largest craft brewer in the US, Sam Adams has been getting it mostly right. Marketing is rightly targeted at "beer snobs" as they position themselves as an alternative to - ahem - bland US beers like Bud and Miller.Steady growth in revenue and profits are good, but increasing costs of malt (due to poor barley crops this year) and energy may mean some downward pressure.I think, though, that the bigger move from kegs to bottles, and an anticipated price increase will go a long way toward offsetting these increasing costs.I'm going long.
