They have expanded too quickly, in the process losing quality control, resulting in a serious dilution of their product "cachet". When you can get a discounted latte at Dunkin Donuts, why pay Starbucks prices when you no longer get good service and a pleasant environment?

there is no DD on the west coast... instead there is a Starbucks on every corner with a huge line of people waiting to fork over $4-$5 for a non-fat, sugar free, soy, latte that costs Starbucks $.30 to make.

I agree wholeheartedly with your analysis. However, that is exactly why I',m a buyer. in a 1yr-2yr time frame, they will regain their strength by going back to their core business......Just like another one of my holdings....McDonalds....

i don't necessarily disagree but.....Dunkin Donuts coffee is terrible. I for one would prefer something that tastes good.

I make my brew at home. I use starbucks but I buy it ground at the supermarket.
