Many organizations say "our people are our source of advantage." If you want to know the truth, talk to the "people." Have you ever spoken with a Starbucks employee (a-hem, I mean associate). They love their company. They have a religious fervor about it. And that's a sign that HR is doing things right. These people would go through fire and water for the company and for one another. They don't see themselves as "selling coffee." They see themselves as making people happy. When people find meaning in their work, it shows in how they treat customers and eventually the bottom line as well. This stock is an HR foolfolio pick.
