international growth is steadily increasing, and is a potentially far larger market than the US. virtually no debt, and incredibly low costs to open and expand markets. plus, recent moves into new categories (ie entertainment) have been successes.

In lieu of yesterdays superb same-store sales, I think SBUX has enough momentum to carry through within the next 2-4 years. I love the company and know many people who cannot live a day without their starbucks fix.

While this is a staple stock with a great user retention and repeat business - I think costs associated with aggressive expansion will harm the stock price in the next 2 years compared to S&P. A good longer term hold though.

Starbucks has proven you can sell a common item as a luxury good at a low price. They are always expanding, and while known on the same global level as McDonald's, they are not looked upon with disgust.
