+ Watch SIRI
on My Watchlist
A leading provider of satellite radio, Sirius XM Radio broadcasts channels ranging from Springsteen to Pavarotti, from Disney to Stern, from Nascar to Oprah.
Even though I still personally believe that Pandora will in the long run beat out Sirius XM, Sirius is sitting at a nice valuation for growth ($3? Seriously?) and is expanding rapidly. The only trajectory for this stock is, well, up!Remember the days when this stock was SIXTY dollars? Oh, how far this stock has come and gone. Sirius is picking up the pieces and will outperform the market.
It has a 15 B market cap... a 30+ P/E and rapidly advancing competition that has the potential to be superior in a lot of ways.
@dwKapital Thanks for the opposing perspective. You might be interested in this article I wrote up on Pandora Media: http://beta.fool.com/evanbuck/2012/12/07/pandoras-boombox-future-internet-radio/18198/Have a great day!-Evan
With all the competition, I think the only reasonable bet is short SIRI. I'd consider a long position in Pandora at 1 B only because of its acquisition value. The future of music is up in the air with Apple music service coming and even more importantly, "social radio" developments.
