With Satalite TV in the pipeline and the SIRI takeover of XMSR and the population of pre equiped vehicles being mfg'ed each year it is bound to make a strong return and go beyond the S&P 500.

I agree. The TV piece of SIRI will help their argument with the FCC, congress, et al. Now that SIRI has signed an agreement with Chrysler for backseat TV, they are not just a radio company. This expands their field of competitors to include satellite TV. With that it is hard to say the combined SIRI/XM will be a monopoly. This to me is a compelling reason to accumulate SIRI.

They finally hired some real lobbyists to help push the XM merger. Lobbyists essentially control all business policy in the U.S., so it is good to see they understand how to play the game.

Your take on the pre-installed radio is a good one. When the merger happens, and XM/SIRI develop compatible delivery systems, I think there will be extremely strong growth for wholesale installs. Gross margins will drop at first, but sales momentum will (finally) result in free cash flow.

You are correct!

I think the merger is really irrellavent. XM will fail or merge doesn't matter. Stern carries Sirius through to in car TV. Trucker and mothers will gobble it up. As everyone has already mentioned new cars will carry the technology and once you go satalite, getting into a car without it makes you want to blow your own brains out. DJ screaming at you, commercial, DJ, commercial... I don't know what I would do if SAT Radio fails. I never ride in a vehicle without satalite anymore. I bought it for all my friends and family and all think its the greatest.
