I've seen Sony contiuously underperform in comparison to tech/gaming tech companies. They are not a quality company, no good marketing, no good products, no good customer service, etc... whose with me?
I worked for Sony for 11 years. It was my choice to leave a good paying job because of Sony's practices and in ability to provide good customer service amoung other things.
I have them in here for an outperform just for the summer movie release. They are involved heavily in the big summer release schedule. Once that is over I will probably drop them again unless I can find some convincing information to keep them on.
I currently have them as an outperform but I just did a back of the envelope trend analysis of raw material usage in Japan and determined they will be a net importer of raw materials for a long time at very bad markup increases due to inflation of such costs in my estimation. Since SONY is located in Japan I will be selling my stock and changing to under perform soon.... UNDER PERFORM for JAPAN in general for next 5 - 10 years.SesameNOW
I disagree - I believe that Sony will outperform in the longer run. They have a lineup of quality products at reasonable prices and I own a number of their products (Cameras (2), Radio/CD player, TV's (2), Walkman MP3/Video player and have never had a problem with any of them. I did have a question about the operation of the Walkman when I first bought it and called Sony's customer service. My experience was an excellent one - quick response, courteous, and professional. I found your write-up rather unbelievable based on my own personal experience.
I disagree with your comment. Sony offer's great products although sometimes over priced IMO. The import thing to remember is SNE's is a much larger contributor to the BDA then other tech companies. I've had SNE outperform and although it's a slow grower currently, I think it's a steady growth stock for long term.
Not me.
You are absolutly right man, Sony's PS3 gaming system is peanuts compared to Microsoft's Xbox 360
i dont like sony out of spite... and the wii and 360 are running laps around PS3...
That's an interesting call. I'm looking at SNE specifically because I think the Japanese market will outperform the US and Europe over the next decade. Remember that Japan had a 13-year bear market that started way back in the early 90's and just ended in 2003, as opposed to ours which just started in 2000.
I disagree. To be fair, both systems have good hardware and the graphics capabilities are on par, but PS3 has the leg up on Xbox by having Blu-ray, a more stable system (360 has been plagued with failures over the years), and IMO PS3 has more and better exclusive games. In addition, PSN is free compared to Xbox Live. In summary, both good systems, but if your going to pay $300 for either system, why not buy the one with more to offer?
