Very promising diet drug (Acomplia {rimonabant)) with few side effects and good efficacy shown in 2 year trials published in JAMA and NEJM. Already approved in Europe, awaits FDA approval here possibly as soon as first quarter 2007. Not only did subjects lose weight and maintain, drug also took average 3 inches off abdomen (the worst fat for you), and brought lipid and other lab valuescloser to normal. May also help in smoking cessation, though approval is further off for that
