I think that this stock really showcases how disconnected the stock market can be at times. If you look at the type of people that are forecasting an Underperform, they are typically higher ranked players that have done their homework. They notice a lack of revenue and also a lack of substance behind this company... and they are willing to take a -160 score on this one b/c they know it can't last. The lower ranked players who are playing this for exactly what it is (a game), are just watching the number climb and climb. At some point, reality will hit and those players better move fast to dump the stock. While I am certainly suffering with a -160 score, I am awaiting the day when reality hits an the stock price readjusts. Do I know when this is going to happen? No. Do I think it will be soon... actually no, I don't. Even idiots get some time to make or break it. The shake-up in the CEO gives the new guy some time to make improvements. The fact that they have vaporware for a product isn't going to pull them through in the long run.tick... tick... tick...

........". If you look at the type of people that are forecasting an Underperform, they are typically higher ranked players that have done their homework. But, once in a while one gets through and beats the odds and the highly ranked players. Consider DRYS. Many highly ranked players* are getting killed for over a year. The question is, is SUF the next DRYS? SUF has only been killing the top players for only a couple months. If SUF is another DRYS, a year from now those underperform scores will be in the -500 .________________________________________________*I have played caps a few months and I struggle just to get past 40% accuracy. I am impressed by you and all highly ranked players.Tiger

I am with you, Joshua. Although not a high-ranked player (yet :-)), I did my homework on SUF and am SUFfering with a score in the -150 range. While SUF successfully becoming a profit-making organization is within the realm of possibility, they have yet to prove that their technology works in an energy-efficient manner when scaled for production. That is, they have yet to provide any reports whatsoever indicating that the energy that goes into the ultrasound generator is less than the energy reclaimed from the sweetened crude. All energy usage can be translated into a barrel-of-oil equivalent unit; if it takes more than a barrel to extract a barrel, it doesn't make economic sense. That, coupled with their lack of revenue to date, leaves SUF as a purely speculative play. Much of the runup in the stock price is actually attributed to (get this!) a runup in the stock price. In other words, when people bought in anticipation of the September conference call, the buying sent off technical signals which triggered more buying. That buying, in turn, triggered more technical signals, which triggered more buying. And the cycle continues. See http://www.pr-inside.com/stockprofit-com-chart-of-the-week-sulphco-r217574.htm to understand what I mean. As for me, I'm holding onto my assessment of their fundamentals: no revenue, no hard evidence that their product is economically viable -> underperform. Unless and until something changes the fundamentals, I'm sticking with this assessment. Cheers!JPS

The toughest thing is when you actually have money in the game. I decided a couple weeks ago that SUF would be my first short (only been investing for a couple years now). So I shorted several hundred shares at 6.59 as it seemed like a "sure short." I've been frustrated a bit the last couple weeks, but agree with and am reassured by the analysis of the many posters here.

I appreciate your comments. You're absolutely right - this could turn into another DRYS situation... I hope not, but I really don't see this lasting past the end of the year. A new year, a fresh new quarter for the new CEO to show what he can do. After then, I expect to see the price to start falling in on itself.Only time will tell what will happen. I appreciate you taking the time to reply to my post. Happy stock hunting!

I cannot agree with you more. If they don't show contracts or at least independent test results (commercial NOT lab scale runs)w/ mass balance by the end of the year then the price will go back down substantially. However, especially for those who are short on the stock, please consider that if they produce either one of those items, the stock will shoot up as it would at least nullify or disprove a lot of the negative press/info that was built into the stock price in the last year or so. It is a heavily shorted stock. And then there's the expectation of revenue...

This is the worst stock in my portfolio by more than 20 points. I don't know what's running it up - but I don't see it stopping soon. Especially with people rushing back into the market following that tumble we had back not so long ago (oh how soon we forget).Heck, I'm even starting to believe this stock might be going somewhere. I mean, it's doubled this fast - IT MUST BE GOOD. And then I remember this biotech I got suckered into back in my early days. It went from $0.76 to $11 in 6 months. Then bombed and was delisted in 6 more. Of course, had that stocks drug of the month managed to be real it probably would have continued to rocket. Question is, is SUF for real? Or is this one hell of a sucker play.

phegm: That's the real question. As far as I, or others can determine it's NOT for real. No revenue... lots of expenditures, and nothing visible in the pipeline either. Despite it's run-up, I see this company as selling vapor ware.

I think that the clock has started striking on SUF. I won back almost 50 points in the past couple of days.

How can people invest in a company with no revenue?

Past couple of days looks like some common sense is creeping back into view. I was at -150 score and now I am down to -115 and the day's not done yet!Its a little too soon to call SUF HQ and tell them to start packing, but it's certainly a move in the right direction.
