Supreme Court case in March will be favorable to 2nd Amendment rights, causing stock rise. Later in summer when the DC gun ban is struck down, stock will rise again. After that it will depend on the company itself, but these two events will give it a good bump.

Smith &Wesson remains an iconic American company with a enduring reputation for quality. The company is currently pursuing aggressive sales promotions and dealer incentives in the civilian market while introducing new products driven by suggestions provided by its regional sales representatives. The company's nine year old partnership with German gun maker Walther has hit its stride with a complimentary line-up of firearms in the sporting and self-defense segments of the market.

The company's entrance into the hunting and tactical rifle markets, as well as potential for high-value military contracts, improve its long-term prospects.



Most recently, the gun manufacturer entered the security industry. On May 1 a licensing agreement with NationWide Digital Monitoring Co., a division of New York Merchants Protective Co., to design and sell Smith & Wesson-branded security systems. The partnership program, which will be launched in June with product announcements following in October, will initially be rolled out in six southern states by October, and fully deployed by January of 2009.
