Looking at $12/share within 6-9 months...
I sure hope so. It's funny to watch these comments that people make but know so little about the company. The company is buying up real-estate like crazy.
Safeway isnt a grocery company anymore ya they sell groceries but they sell advertising space even more. They even advertise for Target selling Target gift cards. Let's see they sell shelf space, display space, rental space for there shopping centers, they put advertising on their to their receipt tape. If you want to talk about their union obligations well that's all online look at the union web sites. Safeway is in competition with a couple grocery chains that are on the verge of bankruptcy Savemart and Nob Hill. If it go's to 12 buy buy buy that would make the dividend worth almost 6% with everything Safeway owns the company is worth at least 34 a share. Dont forget Burd sits on the board at Kohls could there be a buyout there or even Target since there selling groceries oh and Safeway is advertising for them.
Oh ya and 2 of Safeways board members work for KKR.
