In the agribusiness biogenetics field there really is only Monsanto and Syngenta. If you believe that we need to find new ways to grow more on the same amount of land (and I think we found all the land we are going to) and do it more effeciently, then both of these companies are great long term buys. I would buy Monsanto in a heart beat if the P/E was reasonable, but it isn't. Compare P/E and dividend yield for both and Syngenta suddenly looks very cheap.
