It may take several years before Solazyme is profitable, but considering the recent deals to produce oil & fuel for various big name companies, I think the long-term results will be very profitable. - They have already secured the ingredients they need to produce the oil they are targeting from now to 2015. - They have signed deals with Unilever and United. They have projected that the cost of the oil & fuels they produce will be much lower, and competitive with oil & fuels from drilling, if they achieve the volumes that they are expecting.
