The world's largest chip foundry -- that is, it manufactures chips but doesn't deisgn them -- easily beat recent earnings estimates and is earning more from PC sales due to its proximity to Asian producers. It sports a market-crushing yield, a very low P/E relative to competitors, and gets financial help from the gov't of Taiwan. Sign me up.

The tax break that TSM enjoyed has been lifted. TSM has just reported to have paid 4 billion Taiwan dollars (rough exchange rate 1:30) compared to several million just a year ago. I am not sure how this will impact the bottom line or if it will have any effect at all, but it is worth noting. I agree with the rest of your analysis though.
