US airline companies can't figure out how to get it right...they really need to start studying RyanAir. Despite the apparent strength of European airlines, and the threats of them entering the US, I think it's all illusion...France, German, UK, etc....

UAL has been unprofitable and gives the worst service of all of the major US airlines. Fuel prices rising and a Delta/NWA merger will only put pressure on UAL to merge as well. The problem is, no one wants to merge with UAL. They may be left to down...

They will drive the stock up when it's time for the execs. to sell and it will dump on its own immediately after. If you want to take a wild roller coaster ride, this is the company. If you want good management, go elsewhere.
