Union Pacific's GE engines and its work on reducing emissions in its intermodal facilities will make it more profitable in the long-term. Railroad industry in general is healthy due to high fuel prices (keeping trucking companies on their toes); UP's investments in MOW, "greener" engines, and exclusive new shipping routes keep it at top of industry as a whole.
