this bank will sail through the current mess unscathed, and emerge as a big winner. great dividend, nice growth rate, very well managed bank, very conservative business model.

USB is conservatively managed with a focus on controlling costs. Management kept the sales force from getting involved in the subprime mess even as business migrated elsewhere.Disclaimer: I'm employed by USB.
