They didn't get caught up in making ridiculous mortgages. Flat yield curve still hurts, but they generate a lot of fee income and pay a huge dividend.

One of the few banks that has weathered the subprime lending fiasco without much of a hit -- it's off from a 2007 high of 36.84 to a low of 29.09, and now back up to ~ 33. Its 5.2% dividend is attractive, at a 59% payout ratio.

Banks are beat up from the mortgage breakdown. This good old fashioned regional bank still has room to grow and may be buyout option if M&A ever heats up again. Great div yield. Buffett is in and so am I.
