Buying shares of a company really has nothing to do with "supporting" that company, per se. After the IPO, the company has already raised capital to fund operations (barring any additional stock offerings). Purchasing shares on the open market is just a means for you, the individual, to own a piece of a company that has already gone public and been "supported" by a slew of initial investors. If you're unwilling to be a partial owner of a so-called evil company, so be it -- plenty of other folks are quite willing. Great analysis, though.
