I took my "loss" on this one and re-picked it. This is bad for accuracy but good for points if the stock goes up. That's one thing about Caps that is a little frustrating. There are valid and successful investment strategies that have low accuracy but strong returns. For instance, biotech investors will have a lot of flameouts but sometimes hit 10-baggers. The 10-baggers can make up for all the flameouts and then some. Early stage venture capitalists are the same way. 8 out of 10 of their investments are probably worth 0 eventually. But the 1 big winner can be a 100x. Does low accuracy make VCs bad investors?

Hey Geek - eventually, as CAPS marches on, those 100 baggers will be given proper props in CAPS. And I would argue that yes, before those home runs are hit, and biotech VC are sitting with 0 winners and 10 losers, they are bad investors.

I don't have a reply...just a comment--it seems like this is a mediocre company...cost overruns, etc.; with a mediocre technology...not cutting edge; in a critical and growing industry area; at a low P/E; closer to its annual low than high.

So even though I'm not in love with it, it should do pretty well...I think

Hi all in the thread,

How would you folks rate this one vs. CCJ? Or other U related stocks?

I am a scientist by trade, and although I have no direct connection to nuclear power, I strongly believe that in the not-too-distant future there will be a solution to 'nuclear waste' discovered or devised. Once this happens, I believe that the world will go nuclear (in a good way) for energy production. IMHO, it is not too far fetched to see a future where the vast majority of the worlds power comes from nuclear.

As a thought experiment, which investments can one make now that would take advantage of this premise, assuming that it happens in 20 years or so?

Cheers and aloha.

You will make more points closing a losing pick and picking it back up at the same price if it rises. I've just started to look at that myself.

I own this and have a profit.. I agree with you , --- the name of this game is to win on 3 out 5 or more and buy low priced stocks, bottom fishing, which always yield big percentage gains if you are patient.... The winner is always PERCENTAGE, not hype from Cramer and talking heads on CNBC.... PERCENTAGE PERCENTAGE PERCENTAGE...

DON'T YOU GUYS GET IT...?? THIS IS A U.S. MONOPOLY... THEY HAVE ZERO COMPETITION FOR SUPPLYING NUCLEAR FUEL TO UTILITIES... AND AS OIL GOES HIGHER IT IS MORE AND MORE ATTRACTIVE FOR NON POLLUTING ENERGY .... DO YOU HAVE ANY MORE SENSIBLE ALTERNATIVES ? WIND AND SOLAR DO NOT QUALIFY ?? lol
