Nuclear Power is the next .COM

World energy demand is expected to double by 2030.

As a global energy machine we are choking on our current fossil fuel production levels. Our resources of coal, gas and oil are over -depleted and are a finite resource.

Developing economies of India, China and Latin America are growing exponentially and so too are their power demands. With fossil fuels and Environmental issues coming to crisis point the world is looking for other options and those options are limited. Lets face it we can’t double global power with a few more pretty wind turbines. Nuclear power is the only zero-emissions technology! It’s the only large-scale, electric generation that does not add greenhouse gases to the environment and does not contribute to global warming.

USEC is one of the leading companies in this energy revolution and in my view undervalued. If you are investing you should be planning long-term. They engaged a 20 year agreement to convert Old Russian Nuclear warheads into usable energy. If every energy source the world disappeared tomorrow USEC can still produce power for a considerable time. They have a new plant just approved with 30 more on order and are the only processing plant for Uranium in the US (which leads to less dependence on gulf countries)...

Nuclear power is the future – this is an excellent long term investment – if only the doubters had listened to good old Bill “I predict there will be a computer in every home in the future” – Oh how the .com disbelievers laughed...

Darren - I'm with you. If the US had not turned its back on Nuclear power 30 years ago, most of the uranium mines in the US would not be owned and operated by foreign companies. With few exceptions, we don't really have the ability to mine it from the ground in a cost effective manner; as we simply did not develop the technology. Now we are behind the ball as many countries of the world are shifting to Nuclear power while we are dependent on fossil fuels and foreign countries. Not sure where my next play will be but looking to supplement my position in USU with someone involved in mining or precessing.
