The decline up to this point has been writedowns and speculation. Just wait until the banks start playing hot balance sheet potato! There will be a lot of "unloading" of bad debt; no matter how it's classified or financed, the underlying debt will keep deteriorating. We are not at any turning point, tipping point, pivot or any other word that analysts prefer to use on CNBC. We have to deal with a very real problem that is America's insatiable appetite to debt. There is no reason for the financial sector to move up. Until there is some stability, almost every major player in finance will continue to decline in US and EU.
