Valence has very good intellectual property. That's all well and good but doesn't get you too far without a market and a means for producing the batteries cheaply. That's why it is more important that Valence has an alliance with a Chinese manufacturer. Lishen (a privately held Chinese battery manufacturer)and Valence are working together. See http://www.reuters.com/article/inPlayBriefing/idUSIN20070612130912VLNC20070612 Valence provides the material, Lishen manufactures, Valence assembles and resells to Lishen's customers as well as any of their own. Lishen is the supplier for the manufacturer of an EV to be solld both to the Chinese market and exported to the US under the Miles auto Group badge. While I have no information confirming that Valence batteries will be in those EVs that low cost manufacturing/entry into the Chinese market in return for access to intellectual property alliance is likely to bear much fruit. I just regret not buying earlier.
