It is hard to rate bio-tech companies. It is harder still to rate bio-tech start-ups with nothing but losses in their history. But BP's $90 million investment is a re-assuring vote of confidence. Their ethanol technology is based on non-food crops (energy cane, etc.) so, unlike corn, should not precipitate a backlash crisis in rising food prices.
