With a CEO focused on asset utilization / return on equity here is a management that understands creating value for shareholders is all about running the business well. With a conservative credit culture and a huge balance sheet (the fifth largest bank in the US), Wells Fargo is often overlooked because it isn't sexy, is geographically focused in Western States and isn't going to make large acquisitions. Buffett doubled his stake not long ago. 'Nuff said.
