There is a very real shortage in silicon production that will be around for several years. MEMC has long term contracts for the silicon for capacity it hasn't even built yet. The shortage is so bad Ever-Q gave MEMC a 33% stake in the company for the right to buy silicon at a rate where MEMC profits.

I guess that is all good news ! MEMC has order book full till 2010 ! so anything improves - it will improve the margins.
