They have a nice cash flow and profit margin. Current P/E of 6 - and as Cramer points out, Win stands to benefit from the VZ - Alltell merger.

Plus, it is time to add a nice dividend producing stock with some growth to my portfolio.

Windstream has no wireless business and apparently isn't interested in having one. Verizon Wireless has no landline business (not the same company as Verizon Communications) and anything they overlap between Alltel would, obviously, be some aspect of their wireless operations. A company like AT&T or Sprint would be a much more likely buyer. Windstream apparently plans to sit on its wired landline business until the wires rot away beneath it.
