on My Watchlist
A consumer company, which provides weight-loss services around the world. It conducts business through a combination of company-owned and franchise operations.
The key to sustained weight management is and 80/20 Nutrition/Exercise. Weight Watchers true service is to teach people how to navigate the 80% in a practical setting. The bands is what an overweight person purchases and then begins to lose interest in and take off their wrist when they continue to fail because they are not properly managing their nutrition. And then you know what they do? They return to Weight Watchers. Based on the explanation that reduction in membership is due to mobile and fitness band craze; it appears to me there would be tremendous power in a strategic partnership between weight watchers and say Nike, or something like that. I think a smart CEO will figure that out and sell it. Weight Watchers has the best long term success of any weight management program and a brilliant marketing strategy using high profile celebrities to promote their plans. Stock will come back.
