Call it a hunch but I am noticing more problems using Yahoo's website lately which me thinks is related to operations under the hood. Never thought Yahoo had necessarily a sustainable competitive advantage and think they will continue to decline from here. Not a strong feeling here but a pan for the community. Not buying or selling.

I agree with you about the technical issues. Yahoo's rollout of the new ad platform made its legendary gaming site nearly unusable. And can anyone explain to me how running graphic ads that LOOK like text ads is superior to the ad platforms offered through Google or even MSN? Seems like the worst of both worlds to me. Always gonna be an also-ran.

I agree too. I see yahoo really lagging behind google in all aspects. The "new" yahoo mail interface is somewhat complicated and the search engine was never impressive compared to google. Even through all this, I don't see google and other competitors taking 100% of the yahoo market. Yahoo still has an impressive Y! Music and messenger service. Long time yahoo users won't be switching over to google for any reason. Therefore, I don't think the yahoo market will reflect the poor yahoo technical service... Yahoo will remain a competitor for years to come (unless they seriously mess up like AOL)...

The new Yahoo maps is also a somewhat difficult to use and buggy knockoff of Google maps. It needed more development and testing before becoming the default for map links on the site.

Nonsense. They just don't get as much hype as newer players. they have the largest and most valuable audience for advertisers with the most diversified business search, display and mobile
