Good P/E and potemtial for growth. Selling excess power is going to be profitable for utilities.

I've been researching 'green' stocks but dread the overhyped solar stocks or other obviously eco-friendly picks. ABB also earns significant revenue from emerging markets, China, India etc and in addition to being a long term revenue stream as their infrastructures develop, I value the dollar hedge that this Swiss based company can provide.

No matter the source of energy, the power generated nonetheless needs to be transmitted to customers. With so many new energy sources being developed, ABB stands to profit from it.

Most of all, at this price, it looks like a bargain.

I'm taking advantage of foreign currency changes (as the dollar inevitably weakens) plus global infrastructure spending to come with ABB. And 3% yield based on my $15 purchase last month will be safe, given the $2.7B FCF to its $1B dividend payment. Not to mention $6.3 undeployed cash on the books at this time.
