This is the best global infrastructure play there is IMHO. This company is in outstanding financial shape and has a ton of cash. The orders keep coming in. They do things right and they do things faster than anyone else. I have personally owned this stock since it was about $6, and it is about to make another run. If I had to own just one stock this would be it.

Coming back from a long long period of suffering due to legal issues that almost made the company bankrupt. It has made a very nice comebak and will continue climbing.
Strong return, excellent prospects, good and significant contracts with major oli players from Russia to India to China...

Potential is out of this world

while the global economy is slowing the backlog at ABB is holding up well. The nned for emarging market economies to build out their infrastructure will not slow down. Many if these countries have trade surpluss dollars and are investing in their $ for electric generation and transmision. Buy on dips at 25 or less.

Looks good to me.

my limited chart knowledge shows a true winner

ABB is a perfect play on the continued expansion of power utilities & power infrastructure in both the rapidly growing developing regions of the world (BRIC nations), but also the developed world -- with expensive oil & other power-producing resources, I imagine that the developed Western nations will begin to see a push for the expansion of nuclear power over the coming decades. While I always take analyst projections with a grain of salt, it is still very impressive to see a 5-yr growth forecast of 20%+ for a $60Bil market cap company. I think that the next 5-years will only be the tip of the iceberg for this company. If energy-producing commodities maintain or exceed their lofty prices over the next 5 years, the U.S. and other developed Western nations will have little choice but to begin constructing new nuclear plants.

Great chart will be high flyer.

The Swiss love trees......and infrastructure, all of em too, every single one of em' down to the last little baby.

Another great international company at a low price. ABB should be at around $40., so you can pick it up on the cheap now and almost catch a double.

Nuclaear and infrastructure will grow.

ABB has just reported a another stellar quarter with record backlogs and is sitting on about 5 Billion (yes that's billion with a "B") in cash.
The stock is down on news of the departure of CEO Fred Kindle. He is leaving because of "irreconcilable differences about how to lead the company".
I believe that although Kindle was a fine CEO and oversaw an incredible turn-around that doesn't change the incredibly strong position that ABB is in now and for years to come.
Recent orders include $440 million power link in China (the world's longest), $71 million order from India to help strengthen the country’s transmission network, and a $86-million oil and gas order in Italy.
Globally diversified and well positioned as an industry leader, ABB will benefit from emerging market infrastructure growth, replacement of aging infrastructure and energy efficient system upgrades in a variety of industries.

I strongly believe this is a well run company with quality products and that over the next year, as the economy begins to expand again, that it will outperform companies in its industry and the S&P 500 as a whole.

ABB is the embodyment of my future vision of world economics. The global robotic revolution is set to come ... in a few years or a decade from now. This stock is already gaining a lot on the year, but it will probably become even much better than this in the future. It's not something i invest in today, but i certainly will in the future.
I believe there will become a time, much sooner than many might think, that most of the world production will happen by robots, that infact robots will make manpower obsolete, and only the best of human intellects will still be more effeciant than an AI. Robots almost made manpower obsolete already in the car industry, to name one. It's only the start. Robots will become more effeciant, they can virtually opperate 24/7, they don't complain or keep unions or get "sick". And even today you don't always need a human to control a robot, thx to AI's still in their childshoes.
One of the largest barriers, asside of the obvious technoly side for one, is however the price of energy. Robots need energy , lots of them, and if youre going to use millions of them then youll need still a lot lot more, MUCH more than we are using today.
Some see an end to the growth in my beloved growth industry: energy. ...Well they see this end around 2020 or something, wich makes it easy to understand why energy is so hot, and wich should tell you to not care to much.
I say the growth in the energy sector won't stop there, it won't even stop in 2050 or well beyond,
ABB is a company that is half energy, half robotics. When robotics rise in demand, energy will do so to. I think they think that way to.
I'd set this stock to keep 50 years in caps if i could...
