BLDRS Emerging Markets 50 ADR (ADRE)

Quite frankly, I hold both this and EEM as Emergig Market ETFs in my real portfolio since last year. My initial inclination towards ADRE was right as it continuously outperforms EEM, among other things due to its much lower management fee. The potential downside it may have as not being traded at nearly as high a volume as EEM will only truly become relevant to me once I will become REALLY rich :-))) Barclays/iShares was one of the first entrants into the ETF markets and therefore is dominating not only in volume but, unfortunately, also in profit through excessively high management fees to the investor's disadvantage. So all I can do is to capitalistically 'vote' them down with my (not so) deep pockets investing in direct competitors such as ADRE instead and to make pitches like this one. The other possible competitors of ADRE in the near future might become Vanguard's VTO and Wisdom Tree's DEM. I like them both as they are wider in breadth and more selective in Dividends but they are not around long enough yet, nor high enough in traded volume, at least to my mind. SO: If all you care about is (out-)performance based on Emerging Markets in general, then ADRE is right and 50 large cap stocks are good enough. Otherwise, you might consider putting together your own 'mix' by combining individual, country-based ETFs (i.e. Brazil and China only or Singapore and Russia, etc.).
