Global warming only says it's going to go up by one degree. We still need warm weather clothing. They've got some of the best, most durable. Pretty soon, some of what they sold before has got to start wearing out ;-P

They are having lots of problems. Don't think this is a good one to have right now. Will check back with it in 2008 sometime.

Just bought at 22.20 as a value pick (Nov'07). On the upside, it has earnings growth, low P/E, rated a strong buy by S&P (which may or may not be a good sign based on past experience), and no debt. The downside is the effect of a possible recession on sales this Christmas. If earnings remain at least flat, the stock should be in good shape Dec '08 and thereafter.

Another teen fashion pick by my 11 year-old daughter. I think it's cheap at this price, too.

A recent pullback has given a great opportunity for long-term investors.

I believe this stock to be very undervalued. I like the dividends and with Christmas coming up think that it is a great time to buy in. I put my money where my mouth is so to speak last Friday. When talking with my wife about this company she said that it was one of the top choices that our church youth group likes to shop and that has been confirmed by a couple of post that I have seen on the board.

Beaten down sector, no debt. founder and chairman buying big chunks on the open market

I bought today at 22.70.
The intrinsic value I calculated last night was 26 with very conservative numbers. I will buy more later after a market dip.
Undervalued with a PEG (5 yrs) of 0.79, less than 1 due to current fears of recession.
It offers better value (similar styles at lower prices) than competition Abercrombie & Fitch, Gap, Aeropostale.
High returns of capital, equity growth, sales growth, and EPS growth.
Plenty of growth ahead, well managed, chairman bought $20 million of AEO stock on Sep 7, 2007.
My teenage nieces love AEO.

I bought per argument that:
- Solid company in a beaten up market
- low PE
- value price
- recent insider buying.

started my pick at 26 and waited for a better price. Bought at 21.90 and expect it to have a run to 40 within 2 years. Good company with a great brand. Just needs some more international presense and add more countires in the list of those they deliver their products to. Hope they will start acting truly globally soon.

Undervalued based on prior earnings. Undervalued based on 4 yr future earnings. Clearly the state of the US economy is worrying investors. Patience will win the day with this stock. Ride through any consumer downturn: their sales won't be as susceptible as people seem to think.

ONE OF THE TOP RETAILERS. SAME STORE SALES STILL UP. COULD IT BE THE REASON OTHER STORES HAVE POOR SAME STORE SALES IS THAT AMERICAN EAGLE OUTFITTERS IS STEALING MARKET SHARE?
Recs
Retail is beat down a bit right now. This should show quick returns in the 6-18 month time frame.

all time low, inside buyout, and almost thanksgiving, xmas, new year, mean spending spree
