Looks like a solid winner in the long-term. Catch it while it's down.

American Financial Group sells property and casualty insurance and fixed and variable annuities. The company currently qualifies for my Stable Dividends screen, which has outperformed the S&P 500 by 16.6% per year since January 1, 2000. Like the rest of the insurance industry, this company has seen its fortunes improve in 2009. Current eps estimates are $4.17 per share for 2009 and $3.67 for 2010 versus eps of $1.68 in 2008. Despite this favorable trend, the company's stock is selling for a discount to historical values. Current p/bv: 0.77. Five year median p/bv: 0.98. Although the CAPS rating is a lowly 2, the Stockscouter rating is a perfect 10.
