a few more weeks of cleanout, (its due for a short dip). Then a long term hold for this one, and MTGE and NLY.

It has to go up at some point as I bought a bunch last year and have lost a good part of it at least on paper. I am fairly new to public sector REITs and so have a lot to learn. I was attracted by the high dividends on this one as well as NLY, RSO, NTI and ARR. I believe NTI and RSO are probably keepers but would love to hear from someone with a lot more experience for REITS. I am very pleased with the performance of my private sector REITS. Lower distributions (6%-8.5% but one already liquidated with a 16% gain in less than a year plus distributions.

AGNC pays a great dividend. It appears to have a good financial position and is recovering from the pounding that all the high div reits took. It has crossed above the 50 day MA and may continue nicely for some time.

The number of retirees is increasing and they will be seeking higher yields. It appears that Treasuries will stay very low for the foreseeable future, so MREITs in general will be sought after.

even if dividend drops to .75 that is $3 per year, who else pays out this much!

I know some have a negative view about REITs however, I do think this one will increase over the next year. As the US housing market is finally, after years of suffering, coming out, I think this one will go up, back to 35 in about 6-18 months.

To me, it seems that AGNC has been harshly beaten down over the last few months and is due for some rebound. That's first and foremost.

More to the point, I just really do not think that the end of QE is going to kill REITs to the extent that everyone seems to think that it will. These types of businesses existed before all of the QE ever started so why wouldn't they continue to exist afterwards? Beyond that, isn't the supposed end of QE the sign that the Federal Reserve is acknowledging that the economy is improving?

Finally, the dividend yield is VERY attractive. Probably only the more attractive dividend yield is that of DCIX; however, DCIX's dividend is rumored to be unsustainable and likely to be slashed. So, even just relying on dividend, it seems that there is a floor to the price of this stock.
