Alaska Air is a steady and reliable airline. Consistent quality service in the air and on the ground will keep Alaska Air off the news and therefore less subject to the whims of the flying public.

With the vacation season coming up, travelers are looking to more adventerous spots. In recent years, Alaska has been on the top of many travelers list. Air travel to Alaska has increased due to the decline in cruise line sales. Why not. Air travel is the safer way to travel, compared to the uncertainty of cruise lines. Air Alaska is in position to capture those adventuresome Alaskan travelers.

very well ran, consolidation after mergers and seat cutbacks leave ALK in a good position,

Alaska Air Group is undervalued as compared to its peer group of regional airlines and demonstrates continued operating discipline and innovative incentive programs for its union employees. For the last three years, it has posted the best on-time performance metrics in the industry.

I wonder how many people realize that Alaska Air has a larger market cap than US Airways. Obviously I'm late to the ALK party, but ... better late than never.

Growing industry leader. Has already adopted satellite technology that will become commonplace when NextGen is adopted. Generates free cash, and controls its home market. Very Data driven.

Being from Seattle, I've flown this airline many times and I'm always satisfied. I recently tried Southwest Airlines and felt I didn't get as good of a flying experience. I'm not sure what all the hype is about Southwest; Alaska Airlines provides better quality service at the same price. Plus, they seems to maintain long-term profitability, despite being a airline stock. This seems like a great company, and I like investing in great companies.

I understand this company is an airline.

With the ability to change designations from Mexico to vacation hot spots of Hawaii and moving small market service out of it's hands into code share partners.ALK is positioning itself to not only cover the west coast and PNW but move more into the Vegas and Midwest markets as the economy improves to these locals.

ALK is a gem in a recovering but still poorly regarded industry. EPS projected for this year at $6.65, 2011 at $8.65 and 2012 at $9.65. My share price objective is $87.

Because I think they are becoming more popular.

Going "all in", or rather "all out" on the Airline sector.

My CAPS score has been hammered due to Airline-related stocks and the time it is a-comin' for "payback".

I plan to keep going short on the these stocks in the belief that this is a sector horribly overbought as it stands.

If I'm right, my <20 score is about to do a big old turnaround.

Airlines looking for mergers for rev growth and synergy.

Expect stock to increase another forty percent this year. Competition is losing strenght for the Alaskan Flights. May have an aggreement with Delta in the future (Barron's article this week).

ALK came up on my screen because it was under heavy insider and institutional selling. No one is expecting this stock to go anywhere buy down. Analyst EPS estimates are sitting at -0.36. The company is consuming debt at a ferocious apetite as equity holders are slowly squeezed out.
