Let's face facts. Folotyn just hasn't worked out the way Allos longs hoped it would. I was optimistic and green-thumbed - oops. And now the share price has been creeping up for the last month after bottoming at 1.25. But I'm not seeing Folotyn ever making Allos cash flow positive, even with European approval and expanded indications. Allos will have to choose between the short-term pain of blowing their cash hoard on a risky new pipeline, and the long-term pain of eroding their cash every quarter as Folotyn revenues fail to keep pace with cost of sales and SGA expenses.

Their base product is too expansive, competes with qualified rivals, has no specified target (Allos is shootingin every direction).
They need to make a managerial choice as to where to go from now. That may succeed or fail, but not before 3 to 4 years.
In th emeantime, the co is an empty shell.

Stock has been beat down in the last few months over weak Fotlyn sales. Some management positions have been made and this company is gearing up to increase sales in both North America and Europe. Also, at these prices a buyout is possible.

Major purchase option for a larger pharmaceutical company. Over the past year this company has stabalized itself significantly. FOLOTYN already has approval through the FDA for use in some cancers, and its market will only grow as the drug gains approval for other uses.
Noting that FOLOTYN is already approved for some use makes this a secure biopharm to bet on. Knowing that the drug is in late-stage trials for use in the treatment of other cancers makes this a better bet. Knowing that it will be a one of a kind and most likely will beat all others to market with this kind of drug makes this a great bet. And watching big pharma companies salivate as they wait for the next couple of trials finalize (does anyone else hear the buyout bell ringing?) makes this a great bet for the next 12-24 months.

as research becomes more advance, the % of tumor reduction will increase, soon:and with the new health care bill, health providers will be obligated to use the drug. Then you have Europe...all good:

Folotyn is a drug that has NO competitor at this time. The physiologic explanation of the drugs action upon cancer cells appears to have merit based upon trials conducted to date. Oncologists I've talked to see Folotyn as a possible agent not only against Peripheral T-Cell Lymphoma (PTCL) but also Cutaneous T-Cell Lymphoma (CTCL). Also with regard to treatment of PTCL, some optimism has been expressed toward the use of Folotyn early on in treatment of PTCL not just in cases of refractory or recurring PTCL which is the category the study participants have been in to date. If this early use of Folotyn to treat PTCL (along with the possible treatment of CTCL) is shown beneficial it could replace damaging chemotherapy regimens such as CHOP and open up Folotyns use to a much broader patient population.
I feel Allos has a viable drug in Folotyn. If they can pull off marketing the drug and make it available to patients at a price the market will bear I feel they have a chance to impact this niche of the cancer drug market significantly before competitors have time to bring their drugs through FDA trials. I also know of a couple seasoned drug reps who quit jobs with established drug companies to take positions at Allos selling Folotyn.
Lastly, for what it's worth, I have PTCL. Folotyn, and Allos Therapeutics, are of great interest to me for several obvious reasons.
