This stock has moved swiftly off its lows. I was green thumbed on AMD until the most recent jump. My attitude has since changed. While I think this stock is a decent investment, I do NOT think this will outperform the indexes at these prices over the next few months or so.

Despite recieveing the Intel cash, this company still has fundantentals that are simply terrible. Couple that with the CEOs expectation of "Moderate Profits" during Q4 as noted in their most recent conference call, Q4 may be a good time to short/put.

Wow. Why anybody would pay $6+ for this stock confuses me... Their balence sheet is awful and their sales have been plummeting. Not to mention the fact that Intel is scaling up their new development.

They just aren't competing with Intel.

I see nothing but red ink on that balance sheet. You can put a value on the assets because it has negative equity.

They have cash but they are sellying their currently "better" card at a loss, vs the competition.
When NVidias fermi hits the streets at a profit next year, along with tegra and Ion finally getting traction I don't see much positive for them to be honest.

Bad on short term. I love the reliability of their products, the performance. I've always sworn by their products and I continue to. However, the market doesn't see this because the INTEL brand is too recognizable compared to AMD. Intel products are more expensive but they can be that way because they are ahead in the miniaturization game - which is hot with netbooks becoming more common. AMD will bloom in over a year as the GPU/CPU combination becomes standard and people realize that netbooks suck.

AMD is being crushed by it's debt load. Negative book and negative earnings are a bad combination.

Price is inflated from recent analyst coverage that ignores AMD's inability to provide CPU products competitive to Intel's and that, with respect to GPU product, nVidia appears to be back in the saddle and will be closing whatever gaps remains in short order.

AMD?

AMD still makes CPU's?

Dear AMD,

I used to like you, and thought you had some promising CPU's. However I haven't seen any AMD chips in a while, just all the superfast Intel chips.

I really wished you would have tried harder to make something that would have blown intel away. Something different.

It was a nice journey, and I remember our 486DX2 days. I will hurt to see you die like this.

Sincerely,
S

Not convinced they can compete with intel with the current pipeline and they're losing money.

Enjoy being crushed by intel. Marketing speak that you are focusing your efforts in China may give you a small short-term stock boost, but it won't help the bottom line.

too much debt for the equity to survive and too little sales volume for operating profits not to nose dive.

bye bye AMD.

negative book value, whens the last time they made money?? to much debt, down grade by moody, this stock is in trouble. Normal conditions they'd probably make it, but banks and investors are going to get tried of keeping this alive.
