It's financial statement is considerably weaker amongst glamour stocks. And technically, its downward trending with temporary swing high. Time to sell.

I think that the stock market is going to start heading lower soon. If and when it does, companies like this with little in the way of earnings are going to get killed.

American Superconductor Corp is presumably positioned to take advantage of the rising interest in wind power. Revenues have grown dramatically over time, but profits stink. The company hopes to generate a $1.5 million profit for fiscal year 2010, but this is hardly enough to justify its $963.8 million market cap (which is more than 4 times book). This stock is likely to be incredibly volatile. The key is sell on the upswings and buy back stock on the downswings.

I love this company, but it is so niche and not really ready, and though i think they will weather the storm, i think they have peaked for a while.
Looking for entry point.

With negative earnings in 2008 and 2009 and an expected 2010 PE of 100, the current price level is way too optimistic.

If the future earnings are expected to be zero, then AMSC would be valued at 0 with a PE of 0.

at 18.75 a share... AMSC is still a bargain short.

do they even have any real products? any real sales that can be verified?

It is no secret that Citron Research is skeptical of American Superconductor. The company has now crossed the line to ridiculous. They have taken a small customer in Sinovel and added so much nonsense that they have subtracted any corporate credibility that is still left from a company that has done nothing but burn through investors money. It is our opinion that anyone on Wall Street would have to be deaf, dumb and blind not to realize the complete lunacy of American Superconductor’s most recent press release."

I have no idea why it was so high to begin with just looking at the valuations. Now with the citron research coming out this is destined to go down and go down HUGE. The trend line will break....It went up the stairs and it will go down the escalator.
