They have taken a small customer in Sinovel and added so much nonsense that they have subtracted any corporate credibility that is still left from a company that has done nothing but burn through investors money. It is our opinion that anyone on Wall Street would have to be deaf, dumb and blind not to realize the complete lunacy of American Superconductor’s most recent press release."

Recent advances in superconductor manufacturing processes coupled with sharp increases in energy costs are combining to make several superconductor device economics very attractive. People initially viewed superconductors as a way to transport electricity without losses. That is still an application, but right now the bigger application is using superconductors to facilitate short term energy storage. AMSC is well positioned to fill those needs.

A year ago people where saying dump this puppy that it was losing money hand over fist and now. Lol, what a difference a year can make. You gotta spend money to make money and finding a profitable energy fuel that doesn't rely on fossil or oil is tough enough but AMSC is ahead of the class. Yes the oil crunch is helping this stock in moving up that is no doubt, buy they are creating the the future fuel and that isn't easy to do. We have relied on oil and fossil for over a century. Keep your eye on this company its still learning and starting to bring in some profits.

As more stress is placed on our aging power grid, superconducting wire will enable more reliable and efficient power supplies using existing conduits. In addition, superconducting power devices will more effectively regulate and protect grid response to demand. Already the city of Detroit has installed AMSC equipment that is estimated to save $10 million each year by more efficient regulation. Superconductor motors are also a profitable business, with both private cruise ships and military vessels being retrofitted or newly constructed with these very efficient torque generators.

This stock is a piece of crap.

New technology concerning power storage from wind generated electricity as well as other forms of generated electricity will put this company on the map. Already , one of China's electrical generation companies has taken notice and has signed a deal with this company...Other companies are sure to follow...

The electric grid of this country is almost overloaded and is becoming obsolete. AMSC manufactures, in its superconducting cables, a part of the solution to this problem. It reduces energy transmission losses, it is developing new types of more efficient electric motors, and dominates its competition. It should soon be profitable and will be a major provider of solutions to our energy transmission and conservation problems.

Proprietary technology, multiple 'key' patents and acquisition of companies offering unique energy and money saving alternatives to carbon based energy will rocket this company's earning and stock price. Wind power systems producing energy without greenhouse emmissions, a super efficient energy transmission product line and a worldwide marketing force have lead to sales in China, Europe and North America. This stock offers a great 'pure play' opportunity to participate in the alternative energy market. AMSC is very volitile and may not be suitable for many investors at this point.

I think that people are beginning to open their eyes to the fact that we must develope alternate forms of energy . Wind energy is cheap, clean & renewable & I believe that folks will get over the ir aversion to windmill farms dotting the landscape when they realize the benefits of it.

AMSC is in a position to offer some of the most promising technology to make all energy transfer more efficient. They have been slow to promote, but I take that as cautious and patient management. After the markets reward for their most recent aquirement and contract news, I think they may decide to become bolder in the future.

2/3 of electrical power generated in North America is lost on the grid due to resistance. Rewiring the North American grid with superconducting wire (which has essentially no resitance) will be transformative for energy independence and climate change and thus represents a rare confluence of common sense, optimism and grand scale infrastructure investment. AMSC has gone part of the way toward making this technologically possible but still has major capacity hurdles to overcome. Buying this stock is a bet on whether they can overcome these hurdles in a timely fashion.

If the future earnings are expected to be zero, then AMSC would be valued at 0 with a PE of 0.

at 18.75 a share... AMSC is still a bargain short.

do they even have any real products? any real sales that can be verified?

Game changing technologies in the super hot energy markets. Outstanding company leadership and management strategies. Zero debt. Products just starting to come to market and are being sold globally, high customer demand.

I became interested in this stock about 4-5 months ago but never made a move on it. That was a terrible mistake on my part because the stock has almost doubled since then. I believe that this is an extremely stable company and that the progress they are making in the field is incredible. They are making wires that allow electricity to flow faster than the average copper wire. This company is definitely going to be carried by the whole green movement wave.

"It's the product stupid!" AMSC has a commercially viable product who's demand can only go up! Commercial applications, military applications, energy infrastructure applications... it is a manufactured material of primary importance for the energy future of the western world. But keep an eye on the management team... they could still make or break this company.

Navy motor and cable installation project completed in a few months from now should generate alot of investment interest plus other grid and windfarm contracts surely to come. I have personally given them a heads up to a mamoth future windfarm and power plant installation.
