I feel the stock market will do well as people turn away from real estate speculation. Ameritrade is cheap with its earnings growth and with its acquisition of TD Waterhouse earnings could be significantly higher than anticipated

Being a toll booth operator can be quite profitable, especially if all you do is let traffic flow through your hands and not have to worry about paying for the road.

That's what this company does, except it handles equity trades for a fee. The inexpensive infrastructure of the internet allows them to be quite profitable, especially as more people become comfortable handling financial transactions online.

The integration with TD Waterhouse (the U.S. side of it) seems to be going smoothly. I like their customer service and wait times are not very long at all. The online interface is smooth, as well.

This is one of the two stocks (Earthlink being the other one) that I believe will be acquired for a premium

One of the largest brokerages; has impressive revenues; and has seen a dramatic increase in profits. It has more growth possiblities, and is at an affordable price (for me, anyway).

This company generates a 30% plus net income percentage to revenue, and is very scaleable.

I believe there is short rise available as seasonal return to trading starts next month, it has had a two week dip of 7%, which is due to general market jitters, should pick up 15% to upper 19$, afterwhich who knows

Brokers usually do well in the fall after wall street returns from Aug. vacation. Good company after merger with T. D. Waterhouse.

I love my AMTD account, and appreciate the great customer service. They seem to be doing a great job with the TD Waterhouse integration. I still think it will take a little while to see some analyst-approved quarterly/fiscal year results before the stock price goes up consistantly.

During the height of the bubble, AMTD tradraded at $70 a share. There will be bubble-times in the future when everyone and their grandmothers are trading stocks again. AMTD will always be there to take its cut.
