Amazon.com, Inc. (AMZN)

Amazon is probably 30% over-valued now, if not more. Stock Advisor service should re-look this one and make a new recommendation. I would say - hold.

Valuations are too high

P/E of 75! I don't care if they're the category killer, they can't seem to hold a margin open on any major products.

Amazon's stock is projecting continued revenue growth of 30 plus percent for more then a decade. Margins are also assumed to be higher then historical levels. Momentum traders have piled into this stock and it is just a matter of time before the weak hands sell.

Great company, but 77 times earnings? That's a little expensive...

Great company, but come on. Who can live up to that sort of P/E? Another co. can come along and copy their business model & surpass them in a heartbeat. Apple could partner w/ eBay to produce an identical site, just as a side project.

Great company, but will under perform from these lofty valuation levels.

I cannot believe how bloated this stock is based on growth potential. I'm sorry, but I just don't see much growth upside on this company. They are great, they will grow sure, but at the current P/E level this stock is 2X priced for intrinsic value.

Take profits on recent run-up.

I closed Amazon out several months ago for a loss and am glad that I did. I swore off most of the companies that Mr. Market proved I was wrong on and vowed to stay away. My theory on Amazon was mostly wrong because Amazon doesn't own most of the inventory it sells, so my analysis was flawed. IN this case, I'm back to my red thumb because Amazon's share price still assumes a great deal of forward momentum and I see signs that their rise is not sustainable. For example they just dropped the price of their Kindle a few weeks after Barnes and Noble announced their competitive ebook reader, (several other companies are entering this market as well). It also appears that Walmart is directing people to Barnes and Noble when someone searches for a book on their website that they don't stock. Other attacks on Amazon's internet plays is also starting to surface. I don't believe Amazon can hold their market share over the next few years, let alone continue on this growth path. Amazon does have some other tricks up their sleeves but I'm not sure if acquisitions such as Zappos is the best use of their coin. The model of reselling other peoples products seems the best model, but their efforts to continue growth limits them organically. Finally, I see the recovery as a jobless recovery, for now. The Christmas season may impress slightly as people try their best to enjoy themselves, their family, and the holiday, but the season will be relatively short before we're back into the consrvative shopper.

What can you say? When everyone is THAT bullish I might as well go bearish. What's with AMZN's P/E anyways?

buy EBAY, sell AMZN

Spending of all types will be down this year--even internet spending.

At the current price, Amazon is due for a correction down. In the next several months, I expect it to continue to slide downhill.

This one will begin to settle back down, extremely strong day the other day will not likely happen again for quite some time.
