Ann Inc. (ANN), formerly known as AnnTaylor Stores Corporation, is comprised of the Ann Taylor chain and the LOFT chain. Each segment of ANN has its own retail, outlet and online stores. Ann Taylor is viewed as a premium brand that caters to the female professional, while LOFT carries more casual wear.

ANN's products are viewed as a better quality product and many women use the brand to find their "work clothes". With unemployment declining and more women age 20+ joining the workforce, we think that ANN is uniquely positioned to capitalize on the growth of the US economy.

Strengths
Same store sales were up 10.7% (fiscal year 2010) and are currently up 5.5% (quarter ending Oct 29th 2011). (for the rest check out http://seekingalpha.com/article/377491-is-ann-inc-poised-for-a-breakout-before-earnings-on-march-9th

I entered ANN sort of late -- even though I've been a loyal Ann customer for a long time now. In my opinion, ANN is very very well positioned towards e-commerce growth -- a lot more than Banana Republic (owned by Gap). Why? Because ANN has an amazing consistency in sizing.

When I order merchandise remotely, hardly ever do I take it back to the stores to return due to BAD FIT. sizing is amazingly consistent; a Small size collared shirt will fit you just as well as a Small size tunic (note: one is tailored and the other is loose fitting).

- Great quality of stuff.

- ANN has an excellent mix of modest styles. Not everyone can wear halters and minis.

Overall, these attributes make ANN a great choice to order online without trying out the clothes.

IMO their Achille's heel? Arrogant and snooty store staff that enjoys giving customers an attitude. At least that's my experience in my neighborhood ANN store.

-Increasing Net Income SIGNIFICANTLY
-Increasing assets while decreasing many liabilities
-Increasing their gross margin
-Destroying the industry average of NOA turnover ratio
-Increasing merchandise margin as well

When times get rough women shop for their clothes at Ross even though Ann Taylor Loft is nice these women have to eat and in the United States that seems to be their top priority these days. 90% Food, 10% Clothing

Yes, I looked at the losses and yes I looked at the cash flow and I'm not impressed by Ann Taylor however, I'm not stupid enough to throw away a company that has ZERO debt and 113 million in the bank. Ann can recover and I predict it will but it's going to take another year. It's my hope they continue with The Loft because I think that brand can sell.

Are you serious? This company is only months away from a chapter 13 re-organization. There is no way they can correct this ship in time. The consumer is years away from a recovery and they have already had to use 1/2 their credit line! Unless you own put options this company is going to cost you a LOT of money! Take this bear rally as a gift and GET OUT! Twice the expected analyst loss.......change it's name to Ann "Titanic" Taylor.

Ann Taylor is a solid retailer but the holiday season has been tough all around and except for the Ann Taylor Loft division the company has not been doing so well keeping up with deeply discounted department stores.

Overall though I believe they will perform in the first half of 2009 as they have a very strong and loyal customer base, low to no debt and a strong retail presence.

This stock is beat up because retail is beat up. However, they have no debt and should be able to survive 2009. By the end of 2009 ANN should see an uptrend.

This stock has been hit hard, like most retailers. I am a loyal Ann Taylor customer, and I always look for sales. At $25/share, this is a big one.

They have the best, decently priced clothes on the market for professional women. We have to work, and we can't go naked.

She's fashion forward. All women my age shop there and I think as long as they grow as expected, Ann Taylor Stores will be a hit. It's good to buy retail now when the economy is down - but it's especially good to buy Ann Taylor Stores considering their gross margin.
