Australia Dollar & it's value
Recs
The United States and Great Britain have been the financial centers of the world in the past century due to our history of supporting free markets, a sound currency and property rights. Unfortunately, the current political reforms underway in the U.S. and U.K. (i.e. deficits over 10% of GDP, higher taxes on the rich, breakdown in rule of law) will drive the banking and finance business away from London and New York. Australia has the long history of support for free markets, private property rights and are making better decisions at this time. This would make Australia a likely home for the capital that will flee the U.S. and U.K. This should benefit ANZ over the long term.
Recs
Hit hard by the recession, but as a top Australian bank, stands to do well year in and year out
Recs
This company has show a 15% growth rate, the stock pays out a dividends that at the current price is over a 6% yield. The price of the stock is artificially depressed right now due to problems in the banking / finance industry. The downside is that this stock is valued in a foreign currency so when the value of the dollars recovers the price of this stock will go down.
