when things around you are crashing.. you gotta love a dividend yield like this with a low beta stock that should escape some of the high volativity
Recs
One of the leading distributors of propane ; consistent with growth
spurred by international markets.

See headwinds in the next year or so...S&P 500 will struggle...dividend yielding stocks should outperform. APU with its broad-based revenue sources and 6.8% dividend yield allowed it to solidly outperform the S&P 500 over the past 2 years. It will continue to do so over the next year or so.

Great Dividend yield, solid P/E, Cramer recommendation, to play propane
Recs
Crazy Yield and Sales growth. Looks like a win/win to me.

Fundamentals ALL look incredible!!!
ROE > 100!!!
EPS(MRQ) compared to same quarter last year > 100%
dividend > 9%
very good institutional support
Technical Analysis
Big trading range over many years...maybe it will break out with HUGE volume and set record highs
on the day to day chart we see alot of recent sideways action...I suspect that this will result in a breakout from the flat base with large enough volume to carry through the breakout of the larger trading range...
Concerns...

This stock pays a wonderful dividend that is safe. I have owned it for years and usually reinvest my dividends. I try and buy more each time it hits 25 or less. It works. Check it out!!!!

Solid stock with good dividends.

America's largest propane company should have a place in any long term portfolio. The company has low debt and pays a great solid dividend. With a PE of 10 which seems high in todays market just makes the pick easier. APU is a good safehaven.
Recs
One of the largest propane suppliers in the country. Just purchased Penn Fuels (Oxford, PA). Customer service is excellent and they are priced welll.

There are some things you just can not deny -- dependabilty being one and that is a supporting point for my favoring APU. They were planted in my garden that has turned into the farm -- a piedmont to the mountain.

AmeriGas Partners, L.P. is a retail propane distributor in the United States. As at September 30, 2007, it served approximately 1.3 million residential, commercial, industrial, agricultural and motor fuel customers from approximately 650 district locations in 46 states. It conducts its business principally through its subsidiary, AmeriGas Propane, L.P. (AmeriGas OLP) and its subsidiary, AmeriGas Eagle Propane, L.P. (Eagle OLP and together with AmeriGas OLP, the Operating Partnership). The Partnership also sells, installs and services propane appliances, including heating systems. In certain markets, the Partnership also installs and services propane fuel systems for motor vehicles. AmeriGas Propane, Inc. is its general partner, which is responsible for managing the Company's operations. In August 2007, AmeriGas Partners, L.P. announced that its operating partnership has acquired All Star Gas Corporation, a propane distribution business serving over 42,000 customers in five states
With the costs of propane through the roof, most folks I know have switched to pellets, or natural gas.

I've had APU in my IRA for some time now, good dividends and increasing sales make this one a keeper. With the economy like it is I think people are going to spending more time at home this summer....using APU propane for the grill.

Stock price is not moving yet, they have decreased consumers limits on orders of propane to 200 gal per delivery with the high oil prices, consumers are not loading their tanks to full, it would cost over 900.00. With this, their deliveries have decreased and consumers get in on the fixed rate for delivery's and buy 200 gallons at a time when their tanks get low. Also more consumers have used alternate heating such as the wood furnaces in rural areas, and wood stoves are fired up again. I expect their price of propane to go up around June when they send out their forms to pick what plan you want, and the prices of the plans should be alot higher than this past year. The stock should go up between late September and November as filling up tanks starts.
